Comfort

What a grand Saturday. Since the news has taken a national snow day there wasn’t any polling or pundits to take attention to this morning. I caught up on all my saved links and likes last night after returning home from a show in OTR. I was awake till around 3-3:30 soaking it in till I finally melted into my bed.

I was cozied with coffee then a bus ride through Mt. Adams for a grocery stop in Walnut Hills. I came home to a warm grilled cheese, side of tomato soup, and then climbed aboard into my snowy window seat for some relaxation to read and/or write. Then nothing. I was reminded my last Saturday was packed with football all day long. Today nothing. Comfort in nothing. Just sweats, blankets, music, and some welcomed emptiness.

I’ve been inundated with books, videos, polls, and some pressure to write of late. Information overload. My mind says no more for at least today.

The football season ends tomorrow since the Super Bowl is more of a spectacle than a game, but next weekend (I’m committed as soon as I reserve the car) I’ve approved the weather reports and I’ll be heading south for four days and crazy nights. Highs in the 70’s in New Orleans next weekend. It’ll be warm like Florida without the Orlando suck-age. A musical trip in Memphis, the Bayou, and Nashville!

Then February. February. Still and always a funny looking word, isn’t it?
