Be Here Now
A writing coach I follow on Twitter, Lauren Sapala, posted her top 5 books she read in 2015 yesterday (this book was published in 1971). The title of the first book had an underlying meaning to me in regards to an important relationship in my life. How I wish he would “be here now” more often. After skimming through the e-book I found that reading this book relates more about my place in the world right now, not those around me. About love, light, and well, being here now. I thought I would share a few excerpts while I can’t sleep because of an earlier nap:
“ADITY A HRIDAYAM PUNYAM
SARV SHATRU BENA SHENAM
(All evil vanishes from life for him who keeps the sun in his heart.)—Ramayana”
“DON’T THINK ABOUT THE FUTURE.
JUST BE HERE NOW.
DON’T THINK ABOUT THE PAST.
JUST BE HERE NOW.”
“You are loved just for being who you are, just for existing. You don’t have to do anything to earn it. Your shortcomings, your lack of self-esteem, physical perfection, or social and economic success—none of that matters. No one can take this love away from you, and it will always be here.”
